Young People Cornwall is a local charity that supports young people aged 11 to 25. Projects include health education, youth club and the arts.
They also run programmes offering mental health support, anti-bullying initiatives, taking creative activities on the road or simply providing a creative, stimulating place to hang out. Their programmes and projects help young people tackle all the challenges and opportunities they face, growing up in Cornwall.
Young People Cornwall Good Neighbour Funding
Provident Good Neighbour funding is supporting a ‘Heads Up’ programme which aims to help and enable young people to understand how to develop their emotional resilience and deal with the issues that life throws at them. Many don’t know what a mental illness is e.g. stress, OCD, depression, self-harm or what to do about it. After piloting the awareness sessions in five areas, our funding has allowed them to expand this by employing a member of staff to support the training of professionals to deliver the workshops. This includes teachers, youth and support workers.
