The Door is a youth project in Stroud which offers mentoring and personal support to young people, providing fun and challenging activities and trips to channel their energy. They also offer educational and practical vocational training so that troubled young people can go on to lead positive and fulfilled futures.
The Door Good Neighbour Funding
Initial one-off funding was given to support The Door’s mentoring and training programmes, ‘The Light at the Door’ and ‘Tranzform’, in which over 70 young people benefited. Following the success of these projects, further Provident Good Neighbour funding was provided to fund a Family Support Team Leader and a Mentoring Team Leader.
“Provident funding has allowed us to go from a youth mentoring team of ten to 15 people to a large support service that helps more than 100 young people and their parents each year.
We want to help everybody, we need money to do that, and every pound we receive from Provident is another pound we don’t have to raise ourselves.”
