Talk to Footsteps was the runner up and won £500 of Good Neighbour during our 2016 campaign.
What is Talk to Footsteps?
Talk To Footsteps is a free service of support for bereaved children, young people and their families. This includes 1:1 work with young people in their schools, group workshops, and family activity days.
Why should Talk to Footsteps receive a donation from the Good Neighbour programme?
All the Talk to Footsteps’ services are provided to bereaved families totally free of charge to ensure their service is totally accessible to all who may benefit. The group receives no statutory funding and therefore rely heavily upon the community to support them.
What could Talk to Footsteps use the money for?
Talk to Footsteps would use the Good Neighbour funding to provide an activity day for bereaved families. This would provide an opportunity for the families to meet others in a similar situation which would help to reduce their feelings of isolation, like feelings that they are “the only one without a mummy/daddy”. Activities might include team activities such as raft building and racing, tent building, and camp fire songs.
