Solas Project’s vision is to see an Ireland where all children and young people truly know their self-worth and can take full advantage of their potential.
The project provides a range of innovative interventions placing high value on self-worth, character and motivation, working to address the socio-economic and educational imbalances faced by so many in Ireland today.
Their programmes equip and empower children to live full lives and become positive participants in society. Through learning and mentoring, as well as personal and social development, they support young people to create a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
Solas Project Good Neighbour Funding
Since Provident’s Good Neighbour involvement began, the project has gone from having one after-school programme with one full-time and one part-time employee and five volunteers, to becoming a charity with seven programmes made up of three education projects and four sports projects, two full-time and two part-time employees and over 40 volunteers. In addition, through Provident’s partnership with An-Oige, the Irish Youth Hostel Association, residential breaks have been provided for some of the children.
