Butterfly Suite won £2000 of Good Neighbour funding during our 2016 campaign.
What is the Butterfly Suite?
The LMS Sleeping Baby Appeal provide support for parents after delivering a stillborn baby or parents who have suffered the loss of a child through miscarriage or neo-natal. They are looking to build, develop and furnish The Butterfly Suite, based in Arrowe Park Hospital, Wirral. This will be a room that parents are able to use when delivering a stillborn baby. They will be away from the busy delivery suite with sound proof rooms and this will ensure they can spend as much time with their baby before they have to say goodbye.
Why should the Butterfly Suite receive a donation from the Good Neighbour programme?
The charity founder, Nicola Almond, experienced two still births at the hospital and through her own experience feels it would help other parents in similar situations. The room would ensure that parents do not have to suffer through hearing living babies crying whilst they are giving birth to their stillborn baby.
What could the Butterfly Suite use the money for?
The money would be used to build the room, furnish the room with the correct medical equipment, correct bed and surroundings. The room would have its soundproof walls, relaxing decor and surroundings. It will ensure parents have a comfortable environment to deliver their baby.
