Boomerang is a community project situated in the Stobswell area of Dundee, providing services for over 300 members of the local community. The organisation works closely with a number of local support services including the local police, crime reduction partnership, and local authority services.
Boomerang Good Neighbour Funding
Provident Good Neighbour funding supports an IT trainer to work with the unemployed, single parents, elderly and the low paid.
Additional support we provided helped to establish a new youth café drop-in centre facility on Friday and Saturday evenings aimed at helping to reduce anti-social behaviour in the area.
We also provide funding for a lunch club for the elderly – an opportunity for them to leave the house and meet old friends and make new ones in a warm and friendly setting. In addition, the older people also get the opportunity to take part in activities such as bingo, exercise classes, tea dances and day trips.
